| I went to College in San Marcos at (what is now called) Texas State University back in 1984. I worked in Nightclubs as a DJ for many years while I struggled with what i wanted to do with my life. My interest turned to photography and video production. I worked my way into various jobs which eventually led to the SCUBA World TV show. I traveled to exotic locations getting valuable experience as a camera op in places like Fiji, Caymen, and Mexico. I did some music video when the metal band Pantera hired me to work on their project "Home Video 3, Watch it Go!". After completion and a Billboard Video Chart #1, I got an offer in 1998 to go to Los Angeles and learn editing on the Avid and Media 100. I packed up and moved to the legendary San Fernando Valley. In reality, moving to L.A. turned out to be working on porno projects to pay the bills. I was doing feature-length, story-driven erotic films with the biggest name stars for companies like Wicked, Vivid, under the alias Red Ezra. It paid more to do adult and there was ALWAYS work. I worked for hire successfully editing, shooting, writing, directing, and producing for ten years as a freelancer on over 200 movies. I can't imagine film school preparing me like making porn did. Ultimately, Adult movie production is the same thing over and over so it became relentless and un-inspiring. I thought, why am I here? I recently moved back to the Lone Star State to be closer to my friends and family. I want to pursue an art career from what I have always considered home, Fort Worth, Texas. I have a lot of ideas and I love being back where I am comfortable. I'm excited to be getting back to what's most important to me, being creative and making beautiful things. I consider my porn years as the sexy tattoo I just had lasered off. I'm making a fresh start with a new direction. |
